Mies van de Rohr: Farnsworth House
The Edith Farnsworth House (1945-1951) stands as an iconic example of modern American architecture. Designed by the renowned modernist architect Mies van der Rohe, it was the first home he created in America. Located in Plano, Illinois, the house was completed in 1951, epitomizing Mies van der Rohe's modernist ideals. With a steel structure entirely surrounded by glass walls, the building seamlessly connects its occupants with the idyllic natural surroundings. This masterwork has been, and continues to be, revered for its architectural brilliance.

Frank Lloyd Wright: Pettit Chapel
Constructed in 1907 and nicknamed the "mini Robie," Pettit Chapel in Belvidere, Illinois exemplifies Frank Lloyd Wright's early Prairie style. Featuring a cruciform layout that extends into side porches, topped with a low, hipped roof and wide eaves, the chapel is distinguished by its design. Inside, visitors find a fireplace and art glass windows adorned with abstract geometric patterns. Over the years, Pettit Chapel has undergone extensive restoration efforts and remains the sole Frank Lloyd Wright creation situated within a cemetery.
