When I accepted an invitation to do a radio interview on my local NPR station I knew we would be talking about Frank Lloyd Wright, what I didn’t know is that interview would change the trajectory of my entire photography career.

It was the last question from the host Lauren Gilger, “So how many Wright designs do you want to photograph?” That interview and my answer to that question were the spark of project. Now, 10 years later and over 100 designs, it has been one wild journey zig zagging across the country photographing Wright. I have met so many incredible people along the way. Each one living their own unique story with Wright. It started off as a fun project, a way to express my creativity in a subject that I was fascinated about but as I continued along, I have realized that the interior and exterior photography is an important way to document Wright in the current times, for the future of his legacy, something that has not been publicly done for many, many years. But there are also many stories I hear that can’t be documented in a visual form and I have been exploring alternative ways to capture Wrights legacy through these conversations and experiences. But these wonderful experiences do come at a cost in both time and money.

This is a lifelong passion project and is over 90% self funded.

I often get asked how people can support the project, there are a couple ways to do this:

  1. One way is to make purchases from my shop. It not only supports me but also a portion of the proceeds go to other Frank Lloyd Wright sites to help fund youth education programs. Learn more

  2. Another way to support is to donate directly to the project. The funds will be used for travel expenses to 37 states to photograph the remaining 300+ Wright sites around the world.

“I’m hoping through this project for you, me and future generations to experience Wright in fresh new ways not only through my photography but also the stories I tell in my adventures meeting Frank Lloyd Wright homeowners, directors, and aficionados. The Frank Lloyd Wright community is a passionate group and there are many stories to tell. Every donation helps save and bring these stories to life so they are never forgotten.”
