Due to the high demand and reaching gallery and outdoor capacity at the 2023 show, we have made a few changes to the show this year.

They are as follows:

• The "opening night" will actually be two nights; Friday and Saturday, September 20th & 21st, 6-10pm. The exhibit will run for two months with closing night being Friday, October 18th 6-10pm.

• Artist will be expect to attend all three nights.

• There will be a $5 entrance fee for the general public to get into the exhibit each of the three nights. Selected artist will receive one complimentary admission for themselves and two additonal complimentary admissions for family or friends each night.

• We will have live entertainment from 6-730pm.

• The time-lapse video premiere will start at 730pm.

Monsoon Show

Come explore the beauty and mystery of Arizona’s monsoon season through the eyes of some of the best local photographers.

This juried show will showcase a unique perspective from the photographers who choose to go out and document these powerful weather patterns that bring flash floods, dust storms, strong winds, lightning, and dangerous fires that harm people and property across the state.

Opening Night(s):

Arizona Monsoon Photography Prints to be displayed and sold in the BRILL Gallery & Studio and time-lapse videos to be projected on a 6x10 foot outdoor screen on both opening nights and closing night.

Photography - Finished size to be no larger than 30x40. Finished size is the outside dimensions of your piece.

Timelapse Videos - Finished video will be in 1080p or 720p format.

This show is open to all Arizona based photographer’s both amateur and professional. Images and/or timelapse videos must be taken in Arizona during the Monsoon season running June 15th to September 30th of any year.

By entering our Arizona call to photographers and videographers you are agreeing to be added to the Brill Gallery and Studio email list for forthcoming artist opportunities. By submitting images and or videos, you agree that the images and or video are your own work, you own all rights to the images and or videos, and you take full responsibility for the content, including the likeness of recognizable individuals. The actual artwork will remain the property of the artist, our mission is to promote artists and their work. Should your work be selected, you grant The Brill Gallery and Studio the right to reproduce your image and or videos on our website, on social media, and where appropriate to help promote the Monsoon Show only. The Brill Gallery and Studio will always credit the artist wherever feasible. We will not use your image for any other purpose without the artist’s permission.

In consideration of selection, images and time-lapse video entries will be reviewed, selected, and curated by five local Arizona artists.

The Brill Gallery and Studio will take a 25% commission on all sales, 75% goes to the photographer. The gallery percentage goes to help promote the monsoon show, refreshments, insurance and general maintenance of the space and website. Sold prints must remain in the gallery through the duration of the show. Artists can supply a replacement image for the gallery if needed. Artists decide pricing on their photographs, the gallery would then collect 25% of that price, when payment is collected. If the artist prefers, the print does not have to be for sale.

For each image and or time-lapse video selected by the jury to be included in the show, a $35 payment is required at time of selection.

Deadline to submit is Friday, August 9th, 2024

Selected Artist and work will be notified by email no later than August 16th, 2024. Entry fee will be taken at that time.

Photography Prints – Selected artists will then be responsible for dropping off the finished, WIRED and ready to be hung photography print to the gallery by September 13th. We are proud to be partnering up again with Phx Photo Lab so if you need a local print shop we have arranged a special code to get you discounted rates on printing. That code will be provided to you if your image is selected. You are also welcome to use your own print shop as well.

Timelapse Videos – Selected artists will then be responsible for providing full resolution (up to 1080p) video to the gallery by email by Sept 6th, 2024. Email will be provided at time of selection.

Additional requirements - Selected artists will also be responsible for providing a portrait and an audio recording to be done in the gallery by September 13th. This can be done when you drop of your photography. These recordings (QR code) and portraits will be provided alongside your photography.
