Wright's Ennis House in Los Angeles
The living room in Frank Lloyd Wrights Mabel and Charles Ennis house in Los Angeles, California, 1923.
#045 on my project to photograph all of Frank Lloyd Wright remaining designs. Wright’s fourth and largest textile block design, constructed of interlocking pre-cast concrete blocks in LA.
Wright called concrete blocks “the gutter rats of construction” but developed them in a way to be cast on-site, using sand and aggregate from the immediate area, thus giving them a color and texture close to the natural landscape.
