Intermediate Photography Workshop with photographer Andrew Pielage

The Taliesin buildings and rolling hills of the 800-acre estate will be your backdrop for a weekend of iconic architecture and photography. The workshop will begin on Friday afternoon and include an evening tour of Wright’s home, and a meet and greet with the instructor. Begin your artistic exploration the next day at sunrise, with time built in to take sunset photos as well. Dive deeper into understanding changing light, how to properly scout a location and how to shoot architecture with any lens. The workshop will also include an introduction to the powerful editing software of Adobe Lightroom, and peer photo critiques. You don’t have to be a pro but participants should be familiar with using Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO.

About Your Stay

This one-of-a-kind weekend experience is designed to allow you to disconnect, immerse and explore. “Taliesin works like a charm on everybody that comes within its atmosphere,” writes Wright to his friend and client Darwin Martin in 1929. To experience Taliesin in its fullest, you will access a variety of historic spaces and the pristine rural landscape of Driftless Wisconsin; complementary housing is included in the workshop experience.

Each participant will be housed in a single room across the Taliesin estate in rustic Taliesin Fellowship dwellings, with shared bathrooms, access to a kitchenette, and living space.
