A Frank Lloyd Wright Unbuilt - The Bramlett Enterprises Motor Hotel

🔺

Stoked for the workshop season to start and I have been doing some research for a new one in Mason City, Iowa, more specifically the @historicparkinn. It’s the last remaining hotel in the world designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

And that got me thinking about the others?

🔺

I went down the Wright designed hotels rabbit hole and found some cool unbuilt ones.

Lets start with this one: The Bramlett Enterprises Motor Hotel (1956) in Memphis, Tennessee.

Featuring three towers each with three elevators. The structures were seven stories high and each had different rooftop entertainment. Tower 1 featured a restaurant, Tower 2 a lounge, and Tower 3 a swimming pool.

Interesting design huh? The last photos are from Steve Vinzani and Razin Kahn who did some digital modeling and a 3-D visualization of what the project would have looked like.

Wanna stay a night or seven? 🤘
